I mainly shoot 35mm cinema film I’ve bulk rolled at home, and I develop, scan, and print my images at home, as well.

I normally shoot on a Leica M3 with 50mm summicron or Rollei 35, or Hasselblad 500C/M, and my digital images are mostly from my OM System OM-1 mkii on a variety of lenses.

I’ve experimented with at-home darkroom printing, but nowadays I print with an Epson Ecotank 8550 on Epson Premium Luster paper. I cut images to size with a rotary cutter.

My process of taking a picture is very simple. Where I go, I take a camera. As I go along, I take pictures – and that’s it. I rarely go out with the intent of taking a particular picture. I’ve never really scouted a location, anticipated it’s light, and returned for a shot – though I admit it does sound fun. Still, its not likely I’ll ever take the most majestic sunset landscape, unless I happen to find myself in front of particularly majestic landscape at sunset. And I probably won’t capture a rare bird in flight, unless it happens to fly right outside my window. I won’t get a macro shot of the most beautiful flower known to man, unless its native to NH and growing in my yard. And finally I tend not to take a posed portrait.

There’s no theme or idea that underpins any of the images I capture. I take pictures of what I see in my life, and I try to take them at the time that I see them. I guess my stle would be described as candid. But I’d rather leave some room, for the day that I do scout a location and return later for the shot, or for the day that I pose a subject and take their portrait. For now and for me, I just like taking photos whatever style I find myself in.
