About

My name is Jacob Blomquist — I take pictures in and around Southern NH, Boston, and any other places I find myself…

Gear / Process

I mainly shoot 35mm cinema film that I bulk load at home (saves some money), but also shoot Portra 400, 800, Kodak Gold, and other film stocks when the need/desire arises.

I develop, scan, and print my images at home, as well, in order to save on cost and retain control over the whole process.

Nowadays I mostly shoot on a Leica M3 with either a 50mm Summicron v4 or 50mm Summicron DR, but many of my images are from a Rollei 35 or Pentax K1000 with either the 50mm f2.0 or 50mm f1.7. Some are also from Olympus Mju 2, Olympus XA, Pentax MX with 50mm f1.4.

I also shoot some medium format on a Hasselblad 500C/M, with some photos being from Mamiya 6 and my dad’s old Yashica-Mat LM.

My digital images are mostly from my OM System OM-1 mkii on a variety of lenses.

I’ve experimented with at-home print-making via enlargers, but nowadays I print with an Epson Ecotank 8550 on Epson Premium Luster paper. I cut images to size with a cheap guillotine cutter.

I can send you a little print if you’d like one, at no cost (or donate what you’d like), see below.
